Selldins Coat of Arms

Selldin Coat of Arms

Description
Shield: On a red field a horse in leap between two flashes of lightning.
Crest: Three red flashes of lightning.

History
The colors red and gold are from the arms of the county of Uppland. Karl Johan Selldin was born in Uppland and he was a dragoon at the Life Regiment when he was given the name in 1868.

The horse is chosen since Karl Johan Selldin was dragoon. After being a soldier he became coachman. His sons Torsten, Ludvig and David were all grooms when they were young.

The flashes of lightning symbolize electrical engineering and telecommunications. This has been the profession for many of Karl Johan's descendants.
